Job Summary
The Facility Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment at our Dover facility. This role involves cleaning both the administrative office spaces and the warehouse/production areas where HVAC motors are processed. As a contract worker, you will follow a specific checklist to ensure the facility meets health and safety standards. Companies that are cleaning services may apply.
Key Responsibilities
Production Area Support: Sweep warehouse floors to remove dust, metal shavings, or debris. Empty industrial trash bins and ensure recycling is sorted correctly.
4 Offices & Common Areas: Dust desks, electronics, and shelving. Vacuum areas and clean glass entry doors/windows, mop floors
Sanitization: Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including door handles, light switches, and breakroom tables.
Restroom Maintenance: Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms daily; replenish supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper).
Safety Reporting: Identify and report potential hazards, such as floor spills, broken fixtures, or electrical issues, to the Production Manager.
Inventory: Monitor cleaning supply levels and notify management when reordering is necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning preferred.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs throughout the shift.
Reliability: Strong track record of punctuality and the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Safety Conscious: Knowledge of safe handling procedures for cleaning chemicals and awareness of warehouse safety (e.g., staying clear of moving machinery).
Status: Must be able to work as an independent contractor (1099) or via a staffing agency. Employed through a cleaning service welcomed.
Working Environment
Dual Setting: You will split your time between a climate-controlled office and a manufacturing warehouse that may be subject to varying temperatures and noise levels. There are 2 larger buildings and several smaller buildings.
Schedule: Typically part-time or flexible hourly shifts, often scheduled before or after standard production hours (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM).
