UPDATE URGENT: MISSING / POSSIBLY STOLEN SENIOR CAT – DAVENPORT, FL Reward
STILL SEARCHING FOR MY WHITE CAT.
Asking the community for help.
PLEASE READ & SHARE – LEADS NEEDED. I really need everyone's help to share this post.All over the place. I need to make it reach as many communities as possible.
I am asking for the public’s help to locate my missing cat, Snowball, an all-white, 15-year-old senior cat who requires special care. He is NOT an outdoor cat and has been part of my family since he was a kitten. His pet companion at home has been searching for him and clearly misses him.
Snowball went missing from our community in Davenport, Florida, and time is critical due to his age and health needs. Here is the break down so far.
LAST KNOWN AREA:
• He was later spoted in North Ridge Reserve – Davenport, FL
• Multiple neighbors reported seeing him there
• I personally saw him briefly in the neighborhood
From there he disappear.
• I was getting leads that someone have picked him up and took him home.
ONGOING SEARCH EFFORTS:
• Daily searches morning, afternoon, evening, and night
• Door-to-door neighbor outreach
• Hundreds of flyers distributed
• Contacted shelters, rescues, veterinarians, and animal control
• Posted across social media and community boards
IMPORTANT – POSSIBLE THEFT: with reports coming in that somebody's saw him get picked up. Lead us to believe this theft. Because so far the person did not turn him over to any of the animal control, no authorities, or even contacted us.
Under Florida law, pets are considered property. Knowingly possessing, hiding, or rehoming a stolen cat is illegal. Any neighbor, friend or family member who knows and helps keep the person from hiding the cat, could also face charges. You cannot just keep, rehome, or adopt a found pet out immediately; you must go through proper procedures, including scanning for a microchip and posting for the owner.
So many pets going missing. It's reported that millions of pets are illegally taken and either the person keeps the pet themselves or sells the pet for profit.
Must make reasonable efforts to find the owner by posting flyers, using social media (like Nextdoor, Facebook, etc), and contacting shelters.
Do Not Keep or Rehome: Keeping the pet, giving it away, or adopting it out without following these steps can lead to civil or criminal theft charges, as pets are legally property.
There's also possibility the pet was stolen and then given to somebody else. If you are that person who recently received a cat that meets the description, please contact me or the authorities.
TO THE PERSON WHO HAS SNOWBALL:
• Return him voluntarily
• No questions asked
• No charges pursued
• Reward offered
However, if you are turn in or we find out it was you. All bets are off the table. We are more concern about getting our cat back that's it. Please do the right thing. For anybody who either took a pet or knew about a pet being taken and hiding them for the person, you are just as guilty. Why would anybody risk it all and loose everything.
As I said before does that possibility where somebody could just let the cat go after they grabbed him, due to the risk of getting caught. So I need to check every possibility.There could actually be out there.
